Where Pop Meets Musicals

Popsicals provides children between the ages of 4-16 years with rounded performing arts training, as well as building social skills and confidence within a group. Whilst encouraging children to reach their full potential is important, Popsicals is all about the fun side of performance, the passion of music, the pure enjoyment of movement and not about technique, grades, or exams. Each child will gain vital skills that can be used in any career path including, spatial awareness to work with others, voice projection and courage to speak in front of a room full of people in lectures or meetings, memory recall skills, the commitment to work in a team, and showmanship to take pride in a project. Any child who attends a Popsicals workshop need not have any previous dance, drama or singing experience. Popsicals prides itself on the inclusion of all children.

Laura began dancing at the age of 2 at Susan Robinson School of Ballet and then continued at Julie Sianne Theatre Arts where she studied Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Singing, Drama and LAMDA. At the age of 16, she started her professional training at Performers College, Essex. Laura was then awarded a scholarship to Doreen Bird College, Sidcup, where she graduated with a National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre and a Diploma in Dance Instruction in Modern Theatre.
Since graduating, Laura has worked as a professional solo vocalist and dancer in both the UK and Europe, and has vast experience teaching Musical Theatre, Commercial and Street, Ballet, Tap, and Adult Group Fitness classes.
Laura has also worked as a special needs learning support assistant in two schools with children of various ages with a range of different needs and learning difficulties. She is a great advocate for inclusion and gets the very best out of all children.

Jazmine, Millie, Maddie & Millie are an enthusiastic and hard working team who teach and assist at various Popsicals classes, holiday workshops and parties. As previous pupils, they all have a great understanding of the values of Popsicals and are a an absolute dream team to Laura!
